Think, Listen, Speak, Repeat.....
I often come across parents and now even children using phrases like: “we don’t have time, we are dead busy, who has time for all this? we are stressed, give me a break”, I am sure you have heard them too.
Pause for a while and think of days when we were kids, mind you, life then was more difficult because we did not have enough gadgets to help us around with stuff. But do you remember your childhood as stressed, no time, busy, need a break. Forget that, let us recall, have we ever read in any of the history books that hunting for food during the olden days was stressful, or that building pyramid was a stressful task. Things were not easy for our ancestors as well, but they never labeled their lives with low vibrational thoughts. Life was going on in those days too, but the biggest difference was the mindset and the words that they put out. There is enough written on how our thoughts become reality and how they emit frequencies which in turn decides at what level we vibrate. I will not dig deeper into that concept as it will require another special blog.
Look at the world around us, what have we become. We kept emitting thoughts of being stressed and busy and created a collective low vibrational zone for all of us. Now everyone is tensed, stressed or busy. We now feel it is normal to be stressed, busy, and tensed. It is normal to have heart disease or diabetes. We created a new normal.
Ever heard the phrase: ‘You are what you think” Why do we say that. In my decade-long career as a Life Skills Coach, clients often debate with me on things like, They say it should be “You are what you eat and not what you think”. But it is not that way. We are what we think because our thoughts shape our beliefs, and our beliefs create actions.
Please do not get me wrong, I am not against getting busy and achieving your goals, I am only against, the thoughts that we put around it. Stress itself in the short burst is very much necessary for us to achieve our goals and stay on track.
According to Medicinal Encyclopedia: Stress is a feeling of emotional or physical tension. It can come from an event or thought that can make you feel angry, frustrated, or nervous.in short bursts, stress is positive but if it lingers for a longer time, it can be dangerous.
We cannot eradicate stress from our lives, but we can balance it and manage it. Here are few things I feel, we all can do to not only make our lives better but also collectively raise everyone’s vibrations:
Think Carefully
The reason I say this is because our thoughts become our reality. The thoughts that we are thinking give rise to emotions, emotions give rise to feelings and feelings become beliefs and beliefs become actions. Let us look at some of the commonly used low vibrational statements and rephrase them.
I do not have time: I can take out time, I can manage time, I am available
I am busy: I am positively occupied
I am stressed: I am at ease, I am in control, I can manage this, I got this
I am nervous: I am confident
I feel depressed: I am joyful
Now think of a scenario where the whole society collectively rephrases these statements. We will all radiate at a much higher frequency of growth, joy, and happiness. I am sure no one will contradict me in saying that this is not possible because if we say we continuously say we are stressed and we ended up being stressed then we can continuously say we are cheerful and we will end up being cheerful. Same equation, I am just changing the variables.
We must first understand that the situation is not stressful, we are creating the stress around that in our mind. I know, this is easier said than done. I am myself practicing it. But we must master our thoughts for us to rise over these issues. Always think about whether a situation is worth your thought or not. We are creating our destiny with every thought that we create.
You might say, it is difficult to keep track of every thought and ensure that it is a good one. The simple solution is changing the vocabulary as I depicted above and concentrating on the feeling. What kind of feeling does a word busy give you? And what kind of feeling does positively occupied give you? Concentrate on that and you will be able to rephrase almost every negative phrase from your vocabulary and also contribute to making the world a higher vibrational place.
Listen Intently
Listening is another way that we get exposed to creating those unfavorable situations in our minds. How many of us have a habit of listening to the news right after we wake up? Can we change anything that has happened? No, so why listen to it first thing in the morning and set a wrong tune to the day. We will think and feel about the things that we listen and those will eventually come into action. If the news says: too many COVID cases, by listening to this early in the morning, we are waking up to a feeling of sadness and fear, which are both low vibrational. We are adding our low feelings to already low feelings circulating around. These feelings become actions and we would pick up a fight with a family member or a coworker. Think of a scenario where we wake up soothing music, like, say Tibetan bowl sound, it spurs up a feeling of happiness and because we are happy with ourselves, we will be happy with people around us. We all are team players and must work with each other. We must learn to respond and not react. But all of this is possible if emotionally we are thinking healthy.
There is a noticeably big difference between listening and hearing and we must choose one over the other as and when required. Selective listening is very necessary to reduce our stress levels and keep us sane. Also, according to sound therapy, sounds can induce good thoughts and feelings.
Speak effectively
I hear a lot of people using important words like Sorry and Thank You so casually. There are no emotions in it. Only say sorry when you mean it. I can prove this because our society has become more courteous than before, but we are losing on humanity and compassion. How is that possible. Somewhere, our words and our actions do not match, and we are not speaking our truth. We have become people-pleasers, and, in that pursuit, we are taking the stress of our own words. Be a man of few words but let your words have an impact.
I fee,l by taking care of our thinking, listening, and speaking patterns we can eradicate a lot of stress and unwanted situations out of our lives. Also, it advances us to be the best version of ourselves.
At Success Surfers, we emphasize on enhancing the emotional wellbeing of the student and ensure that their emotional diet in terms of thinking, listening, and speaking is very organic. All the activities in the workshops are aligned with the objective of turning our students into thinking beings. Today we all buy organic produce because we know that we need to put in the best inside our bodies for us to be physically healthy. Just like that for us to be emotionally healthy, we need to have an organic emotional diet. Physical health can be gained by focusing on eating clean and working out (Input and output mechanism). Same way, Emotional Health can be gained by focusing on Thinking Carefully, Listening Intently, and Speaking Effectively (Input and output mechanism). The students, therefore, are trained to think positively about themselves, be comfortable in their own skin, and develop or advance a positive self-image. They are then exposed to group activities and get a hang of group dynamics. Such confident students, when they are asked to speak, they will make sense and whatever they speak would be of value because they are thinking beings. That is the reason, we feel that this process of Thinking, Listening, and speaking is very essential to groom a confident human being or a visionary leader. Our mission is to train millions of students with this process and collectively raise the emotional health of the whole society.
